Choreographer • Performer • Host • Producer • Creative Director

Glauco Araujo is a New York–based choreographer, performer, international host, and creative director whose work spans live performance, film, television, museums, and large-scale cultural events. His practice bridges artistic creation and production leadership, positioning him as both a compelling onstage presence and a strategic architect of audience-centered experiences.

A scholarship student at the Alvin Ailey School, Glauco went on to work with the Martha Graham Company and has choreographed for professional dance companies and multidisciplinary ensembles across the U.S. His choreographic works have been presented Off-Broadway, in major museums including the Andy Warhol Museum and Cleveland Museum of Art, and at international film festivals, earning awards in the U.S. and abroad.

Theatre, Film & Performance

As a performer, Glauco has appeared in a wide range of stage, film, and television productions, including West Side Story, Russian Doll, and Daughter of the Bride. His New York theatre work includes roles in classical and contemporary plays, notably RED by John Logan, where his performance further demonstrated his range within psychologically driven, text-forward work.

This depth of theatrical training and screen experience informs his approach across disciplines—bringing narrative precision, timing, and emotional clarity to both live and mediated performance.

Producing & Creative Leadership

Glauco is an independent film and television producer, actor, and creative director, with producing and featured roles in numerous national and international commercial campaigns for brands including Amtrak, Intel, Adidas, Nordstrom, Maybelline, Aveeno, Cinemark, and This Bud’s for Jackie (directed by Spike Lee).

He was also an investor in Broadway productions GREY HOUSE and GOOD NIGHT, OSCAR during the 2023–24 season and is currently developing a new independent film. He serves as Creative Director for Rhizome’s Events & Experiences, where he leads multidisciplinary projects that integrate performance, storytelling, and live audience engagement.

Hosting & Master of Ceremonies

An accomplished international host and Master of Ceremonies, Glauco has led major cultural and televised events worldwide, including the Festival Internacional Cervantino (Mexico), Festival Internacional de la Costa del Seno Mexicano, and the Shanghai International Arts Festival. He has hosted audiences ranging from intimate gatherings to over 6,000 attendees, bringing warmth, clarity, and cultural fluency shaped by deep experience in film, television, and live performance.

He collaborates closely with presenters and works with a dedicated writing team to tailor content to each event’s goals, tone, and audience.

Touring & Self-Contained Works

Glauco offers self-contained touring works adaptable for theaters, festivals, museums, and non-traditional spaces. These projects integrate choreography, narrative, and design and may be presented as stand-alone performances or paired with talkbacks, workshops, or community engagement.

Current touring and development work includes The Carioca Project, an immersive Brazilian storytelling experience blending movement, narrative, and cultural history. The project is currently exploring engagements with venues and presenters in select regions and countries, with flexible formats suitable for international touring, residencies, and cultural exchange programming.
