Our Story

KMPartists was founded in 2004 by Kristopher McDowell, a lifelong creative whose evolution into producer and international arts leader informs the company’s distinctive perspective.
Grounded in lived experience across both the stage and the strategic sphere, KMP operates at the intersection of artistry and infrastructure. We recognize that creative excellence and sustainable growth are not separate pursuits—they are interdependent.
What began as a commitment to meaningful artistic collaboration has evolved into a broader mission: to connect artists, organizations, and ideas in ways that expand audiences, strengthen cultural ecosystems, and unlock new pathways for exchange.

Founder

Kristopher W. McDowell

Kristopher W. McDowell is a cultural strategist, producer, and founder of KMPartists. He led the organization as CEO for 13 years in the United States, driving its expansion into the Asia-Pacific region and shaping its reputation for cross-border artistic collaboration.
Over the course of his career, McDowell has produced more than 1,700 performances across North America and led international touring initiatives in 17 countries throughout the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East. His work sits at the intersection of artistic excellence and market development, with a focus on building sustainable pathways for artists and institutions alike.
He is the Co-Founder of Rhizome Arts Consulting and the Artist Connectivity Collective, both dedicated to strengthening infrastructure and connectivity across the global performing arts ecosystem. Today, he advises a range of leading cultural organizations and artists.
Earlier in his career, McDowell served on the faculty of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (Los Angeles campus), where he contributed to the development of emerging performers. He began his formal training at AMDA’s New York campus before continuing his undergraduate studies.
