BeijingDance/LDTX (LDTX) is China’s first officially registered private professional contemporary dance company co-founded in 2005 by Willy TSAO and LI Han-zhong. LDTX is an acronym for Lei Dong Tian Xia which translates into “thunder rumbles the universe”. The company’s dancers come from different cities across China infusing individuality with exquisite techniques and excellent creativity and talents. With creation, performance and education as its backbone, the company is devoted to the development and promotion of modern dance, and to providing a platform where Chinese dance artists may freely express the multi-dimensional thinking and sentiments present in today’s China.
Embodying the main characteristics of modem dance - individuality, mindfulness of the zeitgeist and originality – since the company’s establishment, LDTX has created an extensive repertoire of works, and has performed at major Chinese and international events and festivals in more than 20 countries across the five continents. The company also organizes influential international cultural exchange platforms such as the annual Beijing Dance Festival in July.
